She said yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a science that brings harmony between the body, mind and soul.

In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, yoga helps individuals achieve mental peace, energy and self-confidence, she added.

The event will also be attended by Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, senior government officials, environmental experts, eminent citizens and a large number of local residents.

The Chief Minister also said that, owing to the visionary efforts and global leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly recognised June 21 as International Yoga Day.

Today, crores of people across the world observe the day by practising yoga and paying tribute to this great Indian tradition, she stated.

Gupta said it is a matter of pride for every Indian that the country’s cultural heritage has received global recognition.

She added that the Delhi Government is committed to ensuring healthy citizens, a clean environment and a greener Delhi.

Following the yoga session, the Chief Minister will inspect the Viksit Bharat Nursery developed within the sanctuary premises.

During the visit, she will review various activities related to the cultivation of indigenous trees and plants, as well as efforts aimed at promoting biodiversity.

An important part of the Aravalli range, the Asola Bhati Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its natural beauty, Blue Lake, dense forest cover and rich biodiversity.

The sanctuary serves as a natural habitat for a variety of wildlife species. Leopards, sambars, deer, porcupines, wolves, nilgai and monkeys, among several other species, inhabit the area.
